Certified Assessing Officer/Assistant Zoning Administrator
CITY OF KINGSFORD
The City of Kingsford is accepting applications for the position of Certified Assessing Officer/Assistant Zoning Administrator. The Assessor performs all duties associated with the preparation of and accounting for the City’s various property tax rolls. Applicant must hold a current Michigan Certified Assessing Officer (MCAO) license. Additionally, the position is responsible for Zoning Administration under the direction of the City Manager. Duties include processes involved with issuing zoning permits, recommending zoning amendments, determining variance requests, assisting with code enforcement and ensuring zoning and property records are up to date.
The City of Kingsford is located on the South-Central border of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula along the Menominee River bordering Wisconsin and encompasses 4.61 square miles with a population of 4,951 residents. The City has a total taxable value of 132,011,000 (2,934 current parcels).
The City offers medical, dental, vision and life insurance and a pension plan that includes a combined defined benefit and a 457-contribution plan. The City also offers paid time off for vacation, sick, personal leave and 10 holidays. The starting salary is $53,025 and incrementally raises to $55,731 after two years.
